Itinerary

  1. Wellness Departures sail July 28, 2027 (from $7,490 pp) and October 11, 2027 (from $9,190 pp), double occupancy, plus airfare.
  2. Both departures operate on the 10-day 'Rendezvous on the Seine' itinerary aboard the Serene and are open for booking now.
  3. Fitness coach Nikki Polos, founder of Workout Worthy, hosts both sailings; programming covers Move, Savor and Restore themes.
  4. Tauck has confirmed five additional Wellness Departures across broader itineraries in 2028, details to be announced.
  5. Preliminary bookings for Tauck's 2028 river cruises open later this month.

Tauck will put wellness-themed river cruises on sale with two 2027 departures of its 10-day "Rendezvous on the Seine," pricing from $7,490 per person — a cautious two-sailing test before any broader rollout.

The Connecticut-based operator confirmed the sailings will depart July 28 and October 11, 2027, aboard the Serene, according to a press release. The July sailing starts at $7,490 per person, double occupancy, plus airfare; the October departure starts at $9,190. Both are open for booking now, and both are fully inclusive.

That $1,700 gap between the two dates is worth watching. It suggests Tauck expects shoulder-season demand, not wellness demand alone, to carry the pricing — the wellness layer itself carries no stated premium.

What do the sailings actually include?

Guests get the same sightseeing and exclusive-access experiences as the standard itinerary, which runs round-trip from Paris through Normandy. On top of that, optional programming follows three themes: Move (physical activity), Savor (nutrition and the food-wellness connection) and Restore (mindfulness, recovery, relaxation).

Fitness entrepreneur Nikki Polos, founder of the coaching platform Workout Worthy, will host both departures. Activities may include guided fitness sessions, mindfulness practices, wellness discussions and nutrition programming. Tauck says resources will be available before, during and after the cruise.

Note what's not said: no capacity numbers, no target participation rates, no stated pricing uplift for the wellness package. Participation is "entirely optional," which means Tauck won't easily be able to measure whether wellness drove the booking or merely tagged along.

Is this a product line or a pilot?

For now, a pilot. Tauck has confirmed five additional Wellness Departures across a broader range of itineraries in 2028, with details to come later. Preliminary bookings for its 2028 river cruises open later this month.

The hardware helps. The Serene already carries The Retreat, a wellness zone on the upper Diamond Deck with a river-view fitness center, massage treatment room and lounge, plus a Sun Deck with pool and bar. So the marginal cost of adding programming is low — the ship was built for this.

For sellers of travel, the near-term play is simple: two bookable dates in 2027 with a familiar itinerary and a wellness hook that may appeal to a fitness-minded client base. Whether it becomes a genuine product category depends on how those seven total sailings perform.

Expect Tauck to announce the 2028 details — itineraries, dates and pricing — once it sees how the concept books.
