- Royal Clipper operates spring voyages; Star Clipper operates fall voyages

- Terri Haas, VP sales and marketing for Star Clippers, framed the product around sail-then-disembark access to coastline
What are the headline dates and fares?
Star Clippers has priced its four 2027 French and Italian Riviera cruises from $2,500 to $2,660 per person, double occupancy, with round-trip departures from Nice on April 24, May 1, Oct. 2 and Oct. 9. The line's Royal Clipper operates both spring voyages; the Star Clipper handles both fall voyages, a vessel split that lets Star Clippers sell the same itinerary style at two price points.
How does the deployment split work?
The April 24 Corsica & French Riviera sailing on Royal Clipper opens with Portofino, then calls Propriano and Calvi on Corsica with Alghero, Sardinia between them, and ends at Sanary-sur-Mer and St. Tropez. Fares start at $2,660.
The May 1 Ligurian Sea sailing, also on Royal Clipper, favors Italian ports: Porto Venere, Portoferraio on Elba, cliffside Bonifacio on Corsica, Alghero, Ajaccio and the French border town of Menton. Same $2,660 floor.
The Oct. 2 Ligurian Sea voyage on Star Clipper swaps more beach time and a Monaco call into the May route, adding Porticcio Beach near Ajaccio before Monaco and Nice. Fares drop to $2,500.
The Oct. 9 Corsica & French Riviera on Star Clipper mirrors April but trades Propriano and Alghero for L'Île-Rousse and Ajaccio, deepening Corsica time. Also $2,500.
How does this fit the 2027-28 rollout?
The Riviera release follows Star Clippers' recent expansion of its 2027 Eastern Mediterranean program with Turkish coast sailings and the addition of 27 new ports to the 2027-28 program — the widest network refresh the line has signaled in a single season. Travel sellers now have a Mediterranean product ladder: Turkish coast, Riviera and a broader portfolio than the line has previously sold through one brochure year.
For trade partners, the practical effect is a bookable shelf running from late April through early October 2027 across two ships, with fares clustered tightly enough that agents can quote spring and fall without a wide spread conversation.
What is the line's pitch?
"Some coastlines are meant to be seen from the water, and the French and Italian Rivieras are among them," said Terri Haas, vice president of sales and marketing for Star Clippers.
"What sets Star Clippers apart is our guests can not only watch the villages and headlands come into view under sail, but they can then go ashore to explore the places they've just seen from the sea."
That sail-then-disembark argument is the differentiation Star Clippers is leaning on against conventional Riviera product — ocean and river cruises, plus hotel-and-rail packages — where the coastline is seen from a coach window or a car.
What's the distribution angle for agents?
- Fares span a narrow $160 band, from $2,500 to $2,660 per person double occupancy.
- All four voyages are seven nights and round trip from Nice, simplifying air-bundle logic for agents booking into Nice.
- Spring sailings sell at a $160 premium over fall on the same route families, giving agents a shoulder-season narrative for price-sensitive clients.
- Two ships means two commission-eligible inventory pools rather than one, an operational detail for revenue managers tracking Star Clippers' onboard revenue share.
How should sellers position it?
The Riviera sailings sit between the line's Caribbean tall-ship core and its newer Mediterranean push. With 27 new ports added for 2027-28, agents pitching repeat clients now have a reason to reopen the Star Clippers conversation earlier than usual, before Riviera and Turkey inventory tightens into the shoulder season.
