Navan Turns to NVIDIA's Model to Power Its AI Travel Agents
Navan says it is deploying an NVIDIA model to power its AI travel agents — an infrastructure bet with, so far, no disclosed booking or revenue numbers attached.

- Navan has deployed an NVIDIA model to power its AI travel agents
- No deal value, booking volumes or timeline were disclosed
- Navan is the platform formerly known as TripActions
- The move signals NVIDIA's expansion from chips into travel-sector AI software
Navan has deployed an NVIDIA model to power its AI travel agents, the companies announced — a move that puts one of the biggest names in corporate travel software directly on NVIDIA's AI infrastructure rather than building alone.
For sellers and managers of corporate travel, the significance is distributional: Navan's AI agents are the interface through which a growing share of business bookings get made. Whoever supplies the underlying model shapes how those agents search, recommend and book.
What do we actually know?
The confirmed facts are narrow. Navan, the expense and travel management platform formerly known as TripActions, is using an NVIDIA model — the AI chipmaker's own large language model offering — to drive its travel agents. No deal value, deployment timeline or booking-volume impact was disclosed.
That silence matters. Vendors increasingly announce AI partnerships without stating what share of transactions the technology actually touches. A model running a demo agent and one handling live corporate bookings at scale are very different claims.
Why NVIDIA, and why now?
NVIDIA has moved beyond chips into selling full-stack AI software, and travel is a visible proving ground. For Navan, buying model capability from NVIDIA shifts engineering cost away from in-house development — a trade-off between speed to market and dependence on a single supplier.
The corporate travel sector has raced to deploy AI agents that can complete bookings end-to-end rather than just answer questions. Navan competing in that race means its distribution partners and suppliers will increasingly negotiate with automated agents, not human travel managers.
What's not in the announcement
Missing from the release: figures on bookings handled by AI, cost savings passed to clients, commission or fee changes, and any performance benchmarks against Navan's earlier automation. Until those numbers surface, treat this as an infrastructure upgrade with unproven revenue consequences.
Still, expect rivals — Amex GBT, SAP Concur, Expensify — to answer with their own model partnerships, because AI agent quality is fast becoming a purchasing criterion for corporate clients.
Watch whether Navan discloses what share of its bookings its agents complete unassisted; that number, when it arrives, will tell us if this is a real shift or a press release.
